Danielle Short was a guest on our #MindsetCheck podcast and we discussed many things during the episode. We focused primarily on the challenges that she has faced throughout life and how this relates to having an “undisciplined” mindset. In addition, we talked about some of what goes into making someone so successful like herself while also being authenticity-oriented.
An undisciplined mindset is one that allows negative self-talk and a victim mentality to run rampant; it’s thinking things like “I can’t do this” or “This is too hard.” A disciplined mindset, on the other hand, is focused and determined; it’s thinking things like “I can do this” or “I will figure this out.” Essentially, it’s choosing to have an abundance mindset instead of a scarcity mindset, and more importantly, choosing a growth mindset.
One of the things that sets Danielle apart from others is her focus on authenticity. Being authentic means being true to yourself; it means knowing who you are and what you stand for, and being unafraid to show the world your authentic self. It’s a quality that Danielle possesses in spades—and something we could all learn from her.
Q: What helps you get inspired everyday?
A: I have been working with a life coach for over 35 years. A better me makes everything and everyone around me thrive. I enjoy what I do. I have a strong work ethic and I’m a natural entrepreneur which helps me do well in everything I do.
Q: What do you attribute your success to?
A: Hard work, being consistent and competent. Using new ideas to create a winning strategy for my business has been the key ingredient in its success! I incorporate current technologies as they become available so that I can stay ahead of industry trends while still maintaining an edge over other professionals with less nimble mindsets or adaptable practices – it’s what sets me apart from them; if you’re not constantly looking at how things change then your chances of surviving are slim.
Q: What do you do each day to mentallly prepare yourself?
A: My process is to constantly visualize what I want for my business. Every evening before bed, I make a list of all the tasks that need completing in order to get us closer towards achieving those goals by morning! I am always looking for new ways to reach out and touch my clients. When I’m not on the phone or in person, you can find me online through email notifications or social media ads that let people know about what’s going down with their favorite real estate agent.
Thanks again to Danielle for joining us today! We hope you enjoyed the podcast and learned something new. One thing I took away from our talk is how important gratitude really is in life. Gratitude is what guides her every day, giving thanks when there are drawbacks or challenging situations arise. She has this rock-solid mindset that comes from focusing on being grateful. She gives credit where credit belongs. It sounds like an easy thing at first but becomes more difficult as we go through daily activities with less appreciation.
