Realtor Social Media Marketing All in the Palm of Your Hand

We are living in a society that is immersed in media. From the moment we wake up to the moment we fall asleep, you can’t help but consume some sort of media content, especially video. I’m sure you’ll agree that we’re inundated with a constant stream of media, from the radio to our cell phones, we have everything within reach. Now within the last ten years however, our attention has shifted towards social media.

As a business owner and Realtor the questions you’re probably thinking is, “What kind of content can I create for my social media account?” We’ll if you’re asking yourself this question, I believe you’re on the right track. Why? Because the question is directed towards yourself which means you acknowledge you’re the one in control of your social media.

VideoSellsRealEstate.com provides state-of the art cinematography services to help market properties, lifestyles and brands. We pride ourselves on being meticulous & creative during each state of production. However, our team recognized a need. Our team is always ready to help our real estate agents when it comes to high-end videography but I specifically wanted to address a recurring need I saw every time I interacted with an agent, and that is how does a Realtor begin and remain consistent when it comes to creating content. You might be thinking, “what is a video production company doing teaching it’s clients to create video on their own?” We believe that video isn’t just for high-end video production, it’s also for everyday communication. Like I always say, “It’s the language of our time.”

“Video is the Language of Our Time”

Communication is done in a variety of ways. From the beginning of human civilization, we’ve been communicating through story and visual images. Video is the easiest way to communicate a message, brand or story, especially in technological world. The phone that everyone carries around with them 24/7  has all the necessary features to put together a solid video to share with your network of friends and prospects.

At this social media boot-camp, I give a crash course on how to plan, create, etc and upload a video. From storyboarding to editing we did it all. A storyboard is a great place to start as it acts as a guide to make sure you’re staying on message.

The Following is what we like to call the Trifecta:

Step One is all about Creating content.

  • Written word – by creating a blog post of at least 350 words.
  • Photos – Self-captured pictures/photos from your smartphone, stock photos. These photos can be saved and re-purposed from blog posts to social media outlets.
  • Video – Creating videos that communicate your brand effectively. Video can be self-produced easily via smartphones, earphones, and natural lighting (sunlight). These videos can be edited on the smartphone via desired app.

Step Two is all about getting all your work Published onto one location that you control. This content is to be syndicated to social media in Step Three (Share).

  • Essentially, we’re just Publishing the content on a designated website (preferably via WordPress.org). Hosting content on a listed domain will build and store your content that is owned by you and your business where you can re-publish to external sites, links, and syndicating on social media channels.
  • Optimizing your blog post through search engines by utilizing key phrases, titles, links, keywords and hashtags.
  • Publish your blog post on a Schedule, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annually. The key is to be consistent.

Step Three is all about Sharing your work on social media.

  • Share your content that is being housed on your website to your designated social media channels/accounts.
  • Examples: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, Flickr, Tumblr, etc.

Once you start creating content consistently through your blog post and share that regularly on your social media channels, you are well on your way to creating a solid real estate video marketing system from which you will reap the benefits of for years to come.
