Going Beyond Your Comfort Zone | Nick Roshdieh (Guest)

Nick is a beast. And he’s created an inspiring morning routine!

In this episode, we asked Nick to share with everyone his morning routine and how he decided to start waking up at 3:45 am to go to the gym every day. Oh, and of course, we asked him how he has been about to stick with this early morning routine.

Waking up at 3:45 am isn’t easy. But it’s possible! Nick said during the interview, “I realized pretty quickly that the only way to have a consistent workout was to do it early in the morning because things come up during the day that you may not be able to pull yourself away from.”

He created this daily routine by consistently waking up at the same time Monday through Friday, regardless of how he felt. This is a powerful point and one which deserves more of our attention. How would our lives look if we just did what we needed to do only when we felt like doing it? It’s in those moments when we don’t feel like doing it that really will test our commitment to our goal.

By doing his workout in the morning, Nick is able to minimize his distractions and barriers to hitting his daily workout routine goal. If we don’t create a time for us to hit some goals early in the morning, we tend to go about our day getting distracted with things that come up that push away our priorities. By creating a consistent routine, we can prioritize the things that are most important for us to be doing. In this case, working out is essential for Nick and his physical and mental health.

Creating a routine isn’t the hard part; it’s consistently sticking to the routine that becomes difficult. I asked Nick how he kept his habit going. In short, Nick said, “it’s not about the workout; it’s about the mindset.” When we have the right mindset, we can accomplish a lot more than we think we can. Nick focused on why he wanted to go to the gym at 3:45 am. In the beginning, he started this routine of going to the gym because he wanted to look better for himself. Now, going to the gym has become a sacred ritual…like a church for him.

When we have morning rituals and routines, our effort is more effective because we can focus our energy on ourselves first, then we can give to others. Our cup must be full in order for us to pour into the lives of those around us. Nick explained this as, “We’re all connected…energy is real. No matter what we think about, we attract. If we put action into it, we attract it even faster. If we have clarity, as a soul, and as a human being that is evolved, it comes even faster.” Remember, our morning rituals and routines will dictate our day, and our days determine our lives. Create routines that will give you the best chance at creating the positive results you seek.
