Embeddable GIFs to Engage Your Real Estate Database

Tutorial - Embeddable GIFs to Engage Your Real Estate DatabaseA lot of you ask how you can embed the video we create for you into an email or how can you draw some attention to the video as well? Here’s a great way to do that and you can actually create a GIF. A lot of times you have to away from Vimeo or YouTube to create a GIF, well Vimeo just launched a tool that allows you to easily create a GIF within seconds right from your channel. You can do it while you’re uploading a video or go back to a video later to create it.

Here are the steps.

  1. Click on a video and open the settings.
  2. Click on the “General” button and you’ll see an option to “Create a GIF” right under the “Thumbnail” option.
  3. Click on “Create a GIF” and Vimeo will pull up your video and a timeline where you can select the exact location of the video you want to mirror the GIF after. The entire GIF can be anywhere from 0:00-0:06 seconds.
  4. Once you’ve selected the desired GIF length, move the bar along the timeline to select the segment you want the GIF to mirror.
  5. Click “Create GIF” once you’ve selected the segment on the time-length you want.
  6. Vimeo will give you an option to download a “large” version and a “small” version. I suggest you download both to be used on different platforms. Or you can share the GIF directly to your email database via Vimeo.
  7. Click “Download” to download the “Small File” for email purposes and the “Large File” for Social Media. Again, I recommend you download both immediately.
  8. Save the files on Dropbox, Google Drive or something similar.

On a side note, I recommend you create a Vimeo account and start uploading your videos onto the site as soon as possible. It’s a great place to back up your video library besides YouTube. Vimeo is much more professional than YouTube and there are additional tools available to you that aren’t on YouTube. I can cover these specific benefits on another tutorial.
