We all get the same 24 hours in a day. It’s up to us what we do with that time. Do we spend it wisely? Do we make it count? Today is a new day, a new chance to make something happen. But why is it so important to make today count? Why must we love whole-heartedly, give it our best effort and let go of what no longer serves us?
Here are the reasons why you need to make today count:
- Because you only have one life to live. You only have one shot at this life, so make it count! Carpe diem! Make today an opportunity to do something that you’re passionate about, that makes you happy. If you don’t love what you’re doing, find something else to do. Life is too short to be anything but happy. So seize the day and go after your dreams! Obviously, don’t forget that happiness is different from pleasure. In my lifetime, I’ve had to do a lot of things that I didn’t like or enjoy because I knew the payoff was worth it all. If you own your own business then you know exactly what I’m talking about. Put in the work.
- Because today is not guaranteed. None of us knows when our time will be up. Today could be your last day on Earth, so make it count! Tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. Apologize for past wrongs and forgive others for theirs. Do something that scares you – life is too short to play it safe all the time. Be bold and take some risks! You might just find that they pay off in ways you never imagined possible.
- Because your legacy starts today. What do you want to be remembered for? What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? Start building that legacy today with your thoughts, your words and your actions. Every decision you make creates opportunities or closes them off – choose wisely! Be kind, be helpful, be the best version of yourself that you can be. The world needs more people like you in it!
So there you have it: three good reasons why you should make today count. Life is precious, fragile and unpredictable – make the most of it while you can! Embrace each day as a new chance to build the life of your dreams and leave a lasting legacy that future generations will admire and aspire to emulate. Go out there and change the world… starting with today and starting with yourself!
