Reviewing Pre-production: Properly creating videos entails a lot more than just pointing a camera and filming. Doing your work upfront before actually filming (a.k.a. pre-production) gives clarity regarding the storyline and your desired outcome. Storyboarding is a common word to describe the brainstorming that takes place before you actually film. Storyboarding can be a graphic, excel sheet, or a drawing on a napkin for the purpose of visualizing the story you’re try to tell and communicate via video.
Video Templates: In this class we created five different templates to help our students accomplish more in less time. Examples include: caravan, educational, community, open house & event video templates
Reviewing “Simple Storyboarding” Guide:
- Open
- Clip #1: Open your video by using a question and/or fact of subject
- Clip #2: Introduce yourself
- Body
- Clip #3 to 5: Create a different talking point for each clip
- Close
- Clip #6 to 8: Re-introduction, thank you, call to action adding a contact page
This is an example of how many clips you should need in order to create a video. Each clip should be between thirty to sixty seconds to create a two to three-minute complete video.
Be sure to distribute all the content created from your video and syndicate throughout all your channels (Website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo).
