Having confidence is one of the most important things in a girl’s life and is something that every girl needs to discover. To help young girls discover this confidence, Girlforce USA put on a one-day empowerment conference in San Diego at the Grand Manchester Hyatt on April 1st, 2017.
The conference was filled with hundreds of middle school and high school girls who were all so eager and excited to not only meet other girls, but here the different speakers share their stories. You could definitely feel the excitement in the room!
Hosted by Channel 93.3 radio personality Geena The Latina with special guests including, Season 6 MasterChef winner, Chef Claudia Sandoval, NBC7 San Diego Meteorologist, Jodi Kodesh, On-Camera coach and NBC7 San Diego Meteorologist, Kimi Evans, Jam’n 95.7 San Diego Radio Host/On-Air Talent, Cedes, 102.7 KIIS FM Los Angeles and Channel 93.3 San Diego Radio Host/On-Air Talent, Alex G and many more!
Each speaker shared personal stories and narratives about events they have gone through. A lot of the stories were hard to hear, but each speaker overcame that adversity, found their confidence and voice and is now a leader in their community. Their stories and their strength really moved the audience and captivated their attention, leaving them feeling empowered to take hold of their lives!
The empowerment conference was a fun-filled event, full of laughter, tears, dancing, singing and lots of inspiration!
When the girls leave the conference, they leave knowing that they have what it takes to succeed and that they can overcome. Everything they have and need to become confident is within them and when they find that inner confidence, they can so easily change their communities and, ultimately, the world.
As a new dad to a baby girl, even I left this empowerment conference with tons of new information and tools that I hope to instill in my daughter growing up so that she can be confident in who she is and never feel the need to shrink down.
Girlforce USA really put on a great empowerment conference!
